High Country Conference Center

The High Country Conference Center is an event and meeting space that can accommodate groups of up to 1,000 people. It features an attached hotel and parking structure, and provides catered meals, meeting rooms, and space for conferences and weddings. Northern Arizona University, the City of Flagstaff, and a private developer worked together to conceptualize the building and its function. It opened in 2008 at a cost of $20 million. NAU students in the Eugene M. Hughes School of Hotel and Restaurant Management program are able to gain practical experience in the facility. It also houses a permanent gallery of local art works. The building has many sustainable features including solar windows and a reflective roof, and contains low-water restroom facilities and filtered water dispensers.
