“When we were at the rescue for Dugald we came up with this thing called ‘Dugalding,’ which was just because we were all in such emotional distress, and the firefighters that were kayakers that were there with him … We all really needed each other and we were in this spectacularly beautiful place.” -Kelly Burke
Following the death of fellow photographer and close friend Dugald Bremner in 1997, Bennett compiled a memorial book to Bremner adorned with photographs, plants, poetry, and memories which she then had bound. She put her energy towards photography to work through the struggles of loss.
