Bennett’s friend Paul Berg envisioned a prom for his friends after witnessing a shipment of tacky bridesmaids dresses on display at a local clothing store. Flagstaff’s now-famous Adult Prom was first held in 1998 in Berg’s back yard. Bennett relished the idea of a prom and was quick to offer her services as a photographer. After a few years at Berg’s house, Adult Prom was moved to Flagstaff’s Orpheum Theater, where it continues to be a highlight of its yearly programming.
