On Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, Special Collections and Archives hosted the “Bennett Birthday Bash,” a gathering honoring what would have been Sue Bennett’s 70th birthday (officially MLK, Jr. Day). Building off the success of the exhibit reception (Oct. 27) and ongoing engagement with Sue’s friends and family since then, SCA thought that it would be fun to bring people back to the space and have a birthday party for her. Over 45 attendees—which included NAU faculty—enjoyed food, drink, music, and each other’s’ company, with many taking a moment to toast Sue in her exhibit space. Michael Marquess of Mother Road Brewing Co. very generously provided beer, wine, and cider, while Andrew See & his Swinging Jamboree provided amazing Rockabilly music.
