Community Meetings

Phase One of the Flagstaff 2020 community visioning process involved answering the question of where the citizens of greater Flagstaff found themselves in the mid-1990s. In order to figure out the community’s values, as well as the issues facing the community, Flagstaff 2020 held many public events in different locations around the city. These events introduced residents to the concept of community visioning in general and the Flagstaff 2020 project in particular.

Fliers were handed out around the town and several articles were published in the Arizona Daily Sun to promote the meetings.

Notes were taken during every meeting. These discussion notes were used by the Vision Task Force and the Action Teams to draft or edit versions of the Flagstaff 2020 vision statements and action plans.
