Science Lab Facility

Northern Arizona University opened the Science Laboratory Facility in 2007. An increase in student enrollment in the sciences, and safety concerns in older buildings, led NAU to construct the new building. The Science Laboratory Facility contains classrooms, labs, offices, and study areas. The Bean and Beaker Café, located on the first floor, is a favorite student meeting spot.

The University demolished Hanley Hall in 2005 to create space for the new science building. Margaret Ann "Mother" Hanley worked for over forty years as the head of dining hall operations at Northern Arizona University. Moenkopi sandstone from Hanley Hall adorns the east side of the building. A plaque in tribute to Margaret Hanley is situated in the first floor entrance.
