Centennial Building
The year 1999 marked Northern Arizona University's one hundredth anniversary since being founded as Northern Arizona Normal School. To celebrate, the university funded a $12.6 million school-wide celebration that renovated several buildings and constructed others, including the $2.5 million Centennial Building in 1999. Its location is an ideal focal point for visitors entering North Campus. The Centennial Building houses the Human Resources Department and Parking and Shuttle Services.
As part of the celebration, Dr. Monte Poen, retired Regents Professor of History, conducted oral histories with prominent NAU administrators, faculty, and benefactors, many for whom campus buildings have been renamed including former Presidents J.Lawrence Walkup and Eugene Hughes, as well as Joseph Rolle, John Wettaw, Wilson Riles, Clifford White, and Patt Cline.
