Palestine Portraits
John Running and Sue Bennett traveled to the Middle East in 1980 and again in 1982. They photographed Palestinians in the occupied territories and in refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon. Upon their return, they showed the photographs in a number of venues, including the United Nations Church Center in New York. Running’s journals reveal his thoughts about the experience and the meaning of the photographs.
