Hualapai Chief

Chief Wauba Yuba was a prominent warrior who struggled against the U.S government troops to retain the Hualapai lands. However, he was killed by a teamster from Prescott, Arizona. This incident started the enmity between the Hualapai and the Anglos.

Hualapai Warrior

Sherum was another notable warrior, fought bravely against the U.S. Government troops during the Hualapai War which began in 1865. War broke out because of a treaty dispute, and the Hualapai fought until 1868, when disease weakened their ranks and they were forced to surrender to U.S. troops.
