In the foreground is a prominent petroglyph in the shape of a spiral, framed by the triangular shape of the boulder. The petroglyph is most likely a migration symbol from the Hohokam culture. The form of the boulder mimics the zigzag of the mountain line. The clouds, mountains, and saguaros form three distinct layers in the back- and midground, creating a sense of movement in the otherwise static scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">This photograph complements <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/library.nau.edu\/speccoll\/exhibits\/scaexhibits\/davidmuench\/2025\/07\/14\/the-goosenecks-1985\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Goosenecks<\/a><\/em>.
