McCONNELL HALL

On October 24, 1987 President Hughes named the 840-bed "South Activity Center" residence hall, built in the early 1970s, in honor of Sam A. McConnell, a long-time member of the state legislature. Today McConnell Hall, the largest and only co-educational traditional-style residence hall on campus, houses 808 students. Completely restored in 1994-95, McConnell is the only hall on campus with carpeted rooms.
