GILLENWATER HALL

Built in 1960, the South Quad, as it was known at the time, consisted of sixty-seven apartments for married students. In the fall of 1987, President Hughes renamed the building in honor of Virgil Gillenwater, who served the university community in various capacities for thirty years, and his wife Clarina. Today the hall continues to offer co-educational apartment-style housing (three students to an apartment) for both nine-month and twelve-month students.
