Herrington House, a Queen Anne style home, was originally constructed in 1904 near the site of Flagstaff's f irst school. In 1921, President Lynn B. McMullen arranged to move the house to an area behind Ashurst Auditorium to make room for the new Teacher Training School building (now the Blome Building). McMullen remodeled the home in the Bungalow Style and it served as the Presidents' residence until 1959. Severe deterioration necessitated the demolition of the home in 1987.
