- Hubert A. Clark and his wife, Cara, moved to Williams from Los Angeles, California in 1928. For years they operated campgrounds in Williams. In the late 1930's, Clark became interested in aviation, acquiring his first airplane in 1937. He helped organize a local flying club and establish an airport. Clark was killed in an airplane crash while flying home in a new Monocoupe he had purchased in Texas in July, 1943. The Williams airport was renamed in his honor in 1992.
