Many treasures can be found in the Northern Arizona University Cline Library Special Collections and Archives Department. These treasures may be in the form of rare historic manuscripts, vintage photographs, oral history interviews, books, or old maps. They provide a storehouse of information that documents the history and development of the Colorado Plateau.

The mission of the Cline Library Special Collections and Archives Department is to collect, preserve, and make available this wealth of knowledge. In addition, the department also maintains the NAU Archives, which consist of records and photos documenting NAU's history and development as well as theses, dissertations, and works by NAU faculty.
