Everybody's bag has a fire shelter in the bottom, you're supposed to have 4 quarts of water, mandatory minimum, I carry five just in case.
We've got 6 fusies, these are used for backburning, lighting on a prescribed burn, anything where you need to light grass or whatever.
Go inside… got a lightweight fleece sweatshirt some people carry. Rain gear, rain parka, and then headlamp, batteries for the headlamp, standard - everybody has to carry an MRE, broken down inside their pack in case you're out on the line late and run out of lunch food. I carry a book just in case I'm on a break and need something to do… carry a can - most people carry a can of something, so you'll be sitting there working and throw it in the coals, cook up and have a hot dinner, first aid kit - standard… everybody has one of these… and then along with the headlamp, most people carry a small flashlight too. And that pretty much is an IA pack. And yeah, everybody, in terms of personal protective equipment, we all carry gloves, yellow shirt, green Nomex pants, black fireproof boots, hard hat.
