Bill Belknap's adventures on the road began at an early age. When he was fifteen, Bill received a special dispensation to obtain a driver's license and end his school career to help his mother, as she suffered from failing eyesight. Jane Starke Belknap lived an avant-garde lifestyle, enjoying travel and automobiles, pleasures that her young son soon embraced. His love for travel and for meeting new people continued throughout his lifetime. Bill, along with his family, made many trips away from home, recording what he saw with a pen and a camera. |
