Appeal a Library Item
Please initiate an appeal if either of the following apply:
- a posted library item(s) was already returned by you but is still posted to your account.
- library item(s) posted on your account were never checked out by you.
Please note that the following are not reasons for appealing a library item(s), including but not limited to:
- A lack of knowledge of our policies
- Being out of town
- Failure to receive library notices of any kind
Please remember that as a patron you are responsible for all library items checked out using your ID as well as for any fines that may result. For your protection, do not lend your ID or your borrowed books to others, and do not depend on others to return library items for you. Keep in mind that:
- All patrons are responsible for informing us of any mailing address or email address changes that might occur while they have an account with Cline Library.
- This library is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail and/or notices informing you of overdue library items or fines.
Appeals are considered on a case by case basis. Your appeal will be thoroughly reviewed and investigated within 30 days of the submission of your Appeal. We will make it our responsibility to produce a decision on your Appeal within that 30 day timeframe. At 60 days past the billing date, no appeals will be accepted and you will be required to either replace the library item(s) with the processing fee charge for each item or pay the replacement fee for each item charged to your account.
