Tips for Searching EBSCOhost Databases (Beta)
EBSCOhost research databases cover a wide range of subjects in the social sciences, sciences, education, business, health & medicine, etc. Since these are licensed, subscription databases, users on non-NAU internet connections may have to authenticate with an NAU ID and password before seeing search results.
Search examples:
- Boolean/Phrase. Select for more precise search results. Enclose phrases in quotes ("") and use Boolean operators (and or not) between phrases/keywords. Example: "economic recovery" and taxes (finds records which include both the phrase "economic recovery" and the keyword taxes somewhere in the description)
- Find all of my search terms (default). Select for more expansive search results based on two or more keywords. Separate keywords with spaces. Example: taxes economy recession (finds records which include all of the keywords you entered somewhere in the description)
- Find any of my search terms. Select for the most expansive search results based on two or more keywords. Separate keywords with spaces. Example: politics congress president (finds records which include any of the keywords you entered -- one or more -- somewhere in the description)
