Help: Course Reserves Request Tips and Video Demo
Abstract: Learn more about how to use the new reserves form to request any number of items that you want, for as many classes as you want, all at one time.
With the new course reserves request form, you can submit a request for multiple reserves items for a single course, or mulitple items for multiple courses, all with one click. The new item-by-item request process helps you and the Course Reserves staff keep better track of each item in your request, resulting in faster, more efficient processing and less confusion.
Some tips for getting the most out of the new form:
- At your own computer, you can open the form in one window and your reading list in another; you can then simply copy/paste (or even just highlight, drag, and drop) the information from your list into each citation field on the form.
- If you have multiple types of reserves (including digital media), even for multiple classes, you can enter them all using the one form.
- Your course information auto-fills for each new entry, so if all your requests are for the same course you can simply click 'Add another item,' skip to 'Reserve Type,' and then paste your next citation. If you are submitting requests for more than one class you can enter all the requests for one class without having to change the course information before moving on to entries for other classes.
- If you have many items to request, try submitting just what you need for the first couple of weeks of classes, then submit the rest at more convenient times later in the semester.
